HySecurity™ HYDROGEN STORAGE ASSESSMENTS
The storage of hydrogen has some inherent risk elements, and in the current global security environment, it could be a substantial risk that must be adequately addressed.
National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards provide adequate guidance for normal use, aging, and malfunction of hydrogen storage vessels - but NOT necessarily for highly inordinate wear and damage to such containers. Vessels located "safely" within NFPA guidelines could in fact cause severe to catastrophic damage to other property and resources should abnormal conditions be suddenly introduced into their environment or operation.
Hydrogen Safety's HySecurity™ Hydrogen Storage Security Assessment is a thorough, on-site, checklist-based approach to evaluating the potential impact of highly abnormal occurrences to hydrogen storage vessels.
Using proven risk assessment methodologies and statistical analysis, veteran HS specialists will identify the levels of risk surrounding your storage vessels - based on potential risk initiating events, potential effects, and impact severity with and without additional protections in place - along with detailed prevention recommendations. These recommendations typically range from such comprehensive alternatives as resisting the storage vessels and/or curtailment of vehicular and train traffic, to moderate changes such as relocation of unloading areas, to such simple security improvements as new signage. All final reports conclude with site-specific response scenario planning.
If you are involved with the storage of process hydrogen used cool electric generators or hydrogen as an energy carrier for fuel cells, a HySecurity™ evaluation will provide the critical third-party analysis that goes beyond codes and standards and the good faith efforts of your own staffs and industry vendors. The time for such analysis is NOW.
